Product Description:

Nicknamed as slaked lime or hydrated lime, calcium hydroxide is the main component of Ca(OH)2 with a molecular weight of 74.8. It is produced by digesting calcium oxide with water and further processing. This strongly alkaline substance gradually absorbs carbon dioxide in the air, becoming calcium carbonate. Soluble in acid and slightly in water, its aqueous solution is a colorless, odorless alkaline liquid with a pH of 12.4.

Calcium hydroxide has an important application in lubricating oil additives

During the use of lubricating oil, acidic substances will be produced due to oxidation and other reasons, which will corrode metal parts and accelerate the aging of oil products. Calcium hydroxide is alkaline and can neutralize with acidic substances to generate salt and water, thereby preventing the corrosion of acidic substances on equipment and extending the service life of lubricating oil and equipment.
